Elizabeth Cunha
Silver Strings Music Academy
HI! I am Elizabeth (Liz) Cunha. Educator, violinist/fiddler, orchestra director, performer, inventor, composer, singer, actor, and creative problem solver with registered training in Suzuki, Dalcroze, Bornoff, Fiddle School, Ultimate Music Theory, Creative Strings Academy, Music Mind Games, Orff Schulwerk, and World Music Drumming methods.
In addition to running a studio, I teach orchestra classes at Stone Ridge School. During summer months, I look forward to leading workshops at camps and institutes and sometimes leading students on international performance tours. Past trips have included Germany, Austria, Italy, and England!
In my teaching I aim to provide experiences that spark curiosity in students about the discovery that lies in making music, and the reward of creativity and community.
When I’m not teaching I love spending time with my children, exploring the outdoors, traveling to new places, fitness, live music, and theater.
Sarah Foard
L'Adore Violin Studio
Sarah Foard blends the clean sounds of a classical violinist with the energy of Irish reels and the soul of early American jazz. Sarah began studying the violin at the age of five in Huntington, West Virginia where she practiced violin every day with her great-grandmother and concert pianist, Dede (Mary Shep Mann).
Sarah performs throughout the DC area, and her favorite thing is to play for dancing. She is a regular musician at Glen Echo and the other local dance venues. Sarah was inspired to play traditional folk music and jazz when she began contra dancing. She can be heard performing with her bands Black Oranges, The Modern Music Project, and the String Mamas.
Sarah teaches violin at her home studio, L’Adoré Violin Studio in Arlington where she maintains a vibrant studio of students of all ages and levels.
